The composition of the Governing Body is as follows:

  • The Headteacher
  • One Local Authority Governor
  • Six Parent Governors
  • Three Staff Governors
  • Eight Community Governors

Our Chair of Governors is Ms Juliet Hartridge.

The Governing Body of a school is responsible for making sure that it is run to promote pupil achievement and to raise standards. Their duties, in partnership with the Headteacher, include:

  • Setting strategic direction, policies and objectives;
  • Approving the school budget;
  • Reviewing progress against the school's budget and objectives;
  • Supporting and advising the Headteacher

The full Governing Body meets once each term.  In addition, the Governing Body has established a number of committees for specific aspects of its work, and these committees hold separate meetings, generally once each term.

The Governing Body is currently operating with vacancies in the above composition. As part of the ongoing governance review, we are working to reconstitute, to align with best practice, from 1 September 2018.

Governors can be contacted via the school office or by email
