Sixth Form Enrichment

In the Sixth Form, your learning should always extend far beyond the classroom. You are not just a student here, but a young person that we have the responsibility to nurture and develop into a fine adult with an exciting future. The skills you learn in enrichment will support your studies and well-being, as well as help to prepare you for life after education.... Mr Campbell, Head of Sixth Form

Enrichment is complementary to your A Level and BTEC courses, includes a host of activities, some of which you will be involved in organising.

Enrichment is every Thursday afternoon and involves both Years 12 and 13. It will sometimes be bespoke to a year group or to a particular career or higher education pathway, but all students will experience a rich and varied range of opportunities throughout Key Stage 5 which will provide them with the embodied cultural capital to succeed in our modern-day culture, wherever their next steps take them.

Throughout the year the Head of Sixth Form organises a series of events which include seminars, courses, trips and conferences. Students have the opportunity to help shape these experiences and partake in leadership roles too. Topics include (but are not limited to):

·         Mentoring

·         Mental and Physical Health

·         Mindfulness and meditation

·         Careers

·         Interview skills

·         University life

·         Personal etiquette

·         Independent living

·         Cookery

·         Resilience

·         Safety and self-care in the community

We also offer an “Employment Carousel” where experts from a number of industries come and speak to our students in small groups to discuss employment in areas such as law, medicine, freelance business, the Arts, advertising and PR  to mention but a few. Student feedback from these sessions is always excellent.
